There is now a large amount of online documentation available to help you learn the techniques for making an electric guitar. Video tutorials from professional luthiers and discussion forums from amateur luthiers provide an incredible amount of information on how to build an electric guitar yourself. However, is it possible to use this knowledge base to self-taught and become a professional guitar maker?
How long can this take? What are the prerequisites, if any? What tools are needed to become a guitar luthier? What mistakes should you avoid making? What knowledge do you need to have to make a guitar? How do you make an electric guitar microphone?
It is all these questions (and many others!) that I will try to answer in this section of this blog. This will of course only be through my experience, with my background, my abilities. No one says that what you find here will be gospel. It will simply be the sharing of an experience to become a guitar luthier.
