This set of "Filter Charlie" pickups replicates the characteristics of the Heritage Charlie, also available in a humbucker version. The winding and magnets used are exactly the same, so the sound is identical as well. This pickup does have a few differences compared to the traditional P90. Instead of a row of six screws, it features a single rail. The advantages of the rail are well-established. It provides higher inductance, resulting in richer bass, more pronounced low-mids, and increased output. This allows for a reduction in the number of windings, which provides more dynamics and enhances the treble. Thus, this pickup has a relatively low resistance compared to a classic P90, but it offers the power of a vintage P90, with deeper bass, more headroom in clean tones, and a substantial gain reserve. Its attack is crisp and it produces a very "twangy" sound when played energetically, reminiscent of the characteristic tones of single-coil pickups .

This set of pickups features two carefully selected raw Alnico magnets: Alnico 3 for the neck pickup and Alnico 4 for the bridge pickup. This gives the set a distinctly vintage character.
