Here is a genuine JB (SH-4) humbucker model from the 1980s, wound by Marcelina Juarez, the manager of the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop. This pickup is legendary in its own right. Few pickups have achieved this level of renown, with the exception of the Gibson PAF, which surpasses it slightly. This pickup is entirely original, except for the cable extension added to the existing cable. This addition was done in such a way as not to compromise the integrity of the pickup. The tape is therefore original, as hard as a rock, like the rest of the pickup. It's an older model, but from the 1985/90 period, when the Seymour Duncan logo had already appeared on the baseplate on the back of the pickup. The small "JBJ" sticker added by the winder, Marcelina Juarez, is also present.
In terms of sound, this pickup is very different from the current JB model, with much more pronounced bass and midrange, resulting in a very thick and fat tone. The output level is high, just like the current model. The magnet is, of course, an Alnico 5.

Among the most well-known guitarists who have used a Jazz Bass Jazz (JBJ) are Dave Mustain (Megadeath), Joe Satriani, Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chain), Steven Stevens, Andy Timmons, Jake E. Lee…
