The Oldman – vintage Alnico 2 & 3 P90 pickup

In 1946, the P90, an iconic Gibson pickup, was born. This pickup, a descendant of the Charlie Christian designed before World War II, was fitted to the Kalamazoo brand's archtop guitars. The early versions of this single-coil pickup, both dynamic and punchy, were perfect for playing jazz with their Alnico 2 or 3 magnets. The Alnico 3 for the neck pickup will give you bright, clean tones while maintaining a mellow feel. The bridge pickup, with a slightly larger winding and an Alnico 2 magnet, offers a bit more power. The overall tone is very vintage. These pickups can be fitted to Epiphone Riviera or Casino models in their Dogear version. Soapbar pickups will equip your Les Paul, SG, or other model to give it a truly vintage character. While the clean tone will be round and bright, increasing the gain will make your amp crunch while maintaining remarkable dynamics. This old guy has energy to spare!
