Blade Runner – Doomfred – Rail High gain Humbucker pickup

The Blade Runner is a set of high-gain Blade Humbucker pickups, developed in collaboration with Frédéric Patte-Brasseur, aka DoomFred, a well-known guitarist on the French and European metal scene, which he has been a fixture on for 20 years. He is also a luthier based in Mantes-la-Ville since 2019. As his stage name suggests, Fred is a doom metal guitarist, playing in no fewer than five bands: Ataraxie, Conviction, Funeralium, Mourning Dawn, and Stabwound. During the initial discussions before the first tests, we discussed Black Sabbath and their iconic guitarist Tony Iommi, as well as Dave Murray of Iron Maiden, for the precision and clarity of his neck-position solos. The challenge was set: to create a high-gain pickup that could handle heavy distortion, with both the bridge and neck pickups, while maintaining precision and articulation.
We opted for a blade-type humbucker pickup, for its look, its sound, and the undeniable advantage it offers:

The pickup, handcrafted and wound in Normandy, features an open cover that protects the coil (the fragile and vital part) while preserving the pickup's tone. This cover, available in chrome, cosmo black, or gold, along with the rails, adds a unique and original touch to this set.
