Manhattan's 59 – PAF Humbucker Alnico 2 and 3 pickup – MHS

The Manhattans '59 is a replica of a Gibson Custom Shop PAF pickup found on many models: the MHS (Memphis Historic Specifications). More recent and less well-known than the Custom Bucker, it has won over discerning guitarists with a near-perfect balance for vintage PAF enthusiasts. It's both warm for the neck pickup and edgy for the bridge pickup, while remaining highly musical and balanced. Some consider it one of the best pickups sets in the world. The neck pickup's Alnico 3 magnet provides both a smooth, musical clean tone and a satisfyingly gritty edge when the amp tubes are cranked up. The bridge pickup features an Alnico 2 magnet, which adds a touch more bite with a higher output level while taming the treble to prevent it from becoming overpowering. This PAF 59 is at home in absolutely every vintage genre, from Jazz to Classic Rock and Hard Rock, including Soul, Rhythm and Blues, and of course, Blues! And put it through an ES-335 or a Sheraton and you'll be playing some crazy Blues/Funk à la Freddy King. Going Down, Down, Down!
