signature pickup MattGuitarCover, named " Strombringer." This pickup was designed specifically at Matt's request to equip the guitar made by luthier Steven Saillant of Saillant Guitars. Matt was looking for a sound close to that of GojiraJoe Duplantier, while maintaining the versatility to explore a wide variety of styles. The result is a pickups featuring an overboosted PAF in the bridge position that preserves excellent dynamics and captures all the nuances of playing, paired with a versatile neck pickup capable of excelling in jazz and blues as well as heavy metal solos.
In 2024, Matt collaborated with Steven Saillant of Saillant Guitars to build a custom guitar for him. Having worked with Steven for several years, he asked me if I could provide a humbucker set with a special finish for this guitar. The challenge was on, so I made the set, with the requested specifications: a Gojira-style pickup! The Stormbringer set was born, though we didn't know it yet. It wasn't until several months later, after the announcement of a production run of this guitar, that I suggested to Matt that we release this humbucker with his signature.
