This new model is inspired by the first electric guitar pickup, the Charlie Christian. A P90 type, it features a rail instead of traditional screws. Most often used for high-output pickups , the rail also offers advantages for so-called "vintage" pickups . The steel blade provides power, bass, and low-midrange frequencies. This allows for lighter winding, which boosts the treble and adds significant dynamics while maintaining power.
This Charlie Christian pickup features an Alnico 3 magnet for the neck position and an Alnico 4 for the bridge position. The result is an extremely sensitive pickup set that perfectly captures even the most subtle nuances of your playing. As such, it's ideal for clean tones and light crunch.
But that's not all! If you engage a more powerful drive, the sound becomes full, organic, and gritty, with that typically single-coil attack and characteristic twang. Thanks to the rail, the bridge pickup handles even the most aggressive distortion while retaining its character and originality.
Available now in Humbucker format, and coming soon in P90 soapbar and Charlie Christian versions.
In terms of finish, you'll find it with chrome, black, or gold rails. For the hood, you'll have a choice between chrome, cosmo black, and gold. The top will be black, but custom versions are available with tops made of various types of wood and finishes.

Charlie Christian was an American jazz guitarist, very famous in his time (1916–1942). He notably played in Benny Goodman's orchestra. Gibson equipped the ES-150 with an elongated hexagonal pickup in 1936. Charlie Christian adopted it, and the following year the pickup was named after him.
