This new model is inspired by the first electric guitar pickup, the Charlie Christian pickup. A P90 type, it features a rail instead of traditional screws.

It is with great pleasure that I announce the release of a new set of humbucker pickups : the Jerry T. signature "Burst Origin". This is doubly exciting because it is the result of a new collaboration with a highly talented artist: Jerry T. of Jerry T. and the Black Alligators.

If there's one iconic guitar pickup par excellence, perhaps the most iconic in the history of the electric guitar, it's the Gibson PAF. This pickup was a true technological breakthrough when it was released. Thanks to its clever design, it eliminated the "hum," that infamous 60-cycle hum generated by single-coil pickups.

Making a new guitar pickup is always an exciting experience. You try things out, you experiment, sometimes starting with a vague idea, a simple desire to use a particular component, and other times you begin with a very specific idea in mind. When DoomFred told me about a pickup he liked, he immediately mentioned a dual-blade humbucker, with two rails instead of the traditional screws and pole pieces. During our discussions about legendary pickups , the Dimarzio Super Distortion came up, the first high-gain pickup with a ceramic magnet in the history of electric guitar, back in 1972: the beginning of the modern era. We also talked about Black Sabbath, Jimmy Page, and Dave Murray. So, the challenge was on.
